In Rain

St. Hallvard High School, the high school that most of the main characters attend, is a Catholic high school. This creates some tension and problems for many characters due to the Catholic attitude on homosexuality, "cross-dressing", and gender transitioning.

Father Quenton Morrison lords over St. Hallvard as its principal, with Brother Arthur Feltman as his Dean. While both seem to follow their faith in equal measure, there is considerable variety between them in their attitudes on LGBT people. Father Quenton is much more strict, perhaps needlessly so.
