MIS:158: Demon Eyes

Synopsis

Belial confronts Eiji about Seir, while Verity tries to keep it peaceful. Theo stays silent.

Author Notes

A very interesting tidbit of information about demons. You can tell, to some extent, how dangerous a demon might be by looking at their eyes. The more lives a demon ends, the more their eyes distort and discolor. Obviously, this means that if one has not killed anyone, their eyes will look more or less like anyone else's. If someone has, though, you'd know. And if someone's killed a lot...

Just who is Seir? What has he done? And what is Eiji's connection to someone like this? O_o

Belial tries to get those answers, Eiji tries to dodge the questions, and Verity tries her best to keep everyone in line so that they're all still friends when this is over. Theo is curiously silent.

Who was that, Eiji?

Eiji looks in Belial's direction, where Verity and Theo are

Why are you talking to demons like that?
B-Belial, it's not what you think.
Don’t lie to me!
I saw his eyes. Those are the eyes of a demon who's taken a lot of lives.
The more they kill, the more their eyes discolor.
His were blood red and practically swirling.
Belial, please. I need you to understand this isn’t something I can just talk about. I need you to trust me.
Then you need to give me something I can trust.
Please don’t fight...
I... I know where the thieves are. I can get our stuff back.
Great. You didn't need to enlist a violent demon's aid to reclaim a couple trinkets.
It's not just a trinket!
Then what is it?
Guys, please.
Don’t fight!
