MIS:71: Golem Hall

Synopsis

Verity gives Chiaki a tour of her new lodgings at Golem Hall.

If ever there was a page that was almost more for me than the readers, it's this one. I have no idea if learning the layout of this dorm is interesting to anyone. And I don't expect there's going to be a time when understanding a major plot development will hinge upon your ability to remember exactly which room a certain character lives in or how many showers there are. But I certainly had a use for it, as it really helped contextualize this as a living space for these kids for me. So hopefully some of you will appreciate this detail too.

I can't guarantee this is a well-designed dormitory (an architect, I am not), but that's fine even if it's not. Plenty of real life buildings have terrible layouts with its inhabitants just doing their best to get used to all the quirks and oddities, after all. I figured any truly foolish design aspects just add to what these kids have to put up with on a regular day.

Verity:

Since there's a lot of extra space, none of our rooms are directly next to each other. Sorry that does put you at the far end of the hall.

Here, I'll show you!

Visualized is a top-down view of a long hallway titled "GOLEM HALL". It has two doors to its left and right, and nine rooms each to its top and bottom.
The left-most door to the hallway is the exit, and the right-most door to the hallway is the storage and laundry.
The top rooms are: "Theo", empty space, "Verity", empty space, a big space for "Kitchen + Dining", "Belial", empty space, "Chiaki", and an empty space.
The bottom rooms are: "Nagisa", empty space, "Eiji", empty space, a big space for "Toilets + Showers", "Micah", empty space, "Keegan", and an empty space.

Verity:

After the first four bedrooms on either side, the big open door on your left is the kitchen and dining area. If we ever get this party thing figured out, that's probably where we'll all hang out.

Verity:

Across from that, there's the bathroom and shower stalls. Six toilets, four showers. Of course, there’s eight of us now, but I don’t think that should be an issue.
