Rain:1056: Wink, Wink

Synopsis

Emily and Rudy explain that they came to prom together, and that Fara is bringing Rain and Chanel later. When Holly asks how Rain and Chanel can come together, Ana attempts to throw Holly off their trail.

No new dresses/tuxes today. Maybe next time? We'll just have to wait and see. ;P

But this is an important page (albeit a silly one). See, we get some explanation of where Rain is and why she's not with Emily. This page also clarifies roughly when we can expect Chanel and probably Maria, and also confirms Fara as a chaperone.

Also confirmed, Holly's constant presence! It's not as though she's hanging out with the main crew, but if you've ever been to a prom hall (or any kind of reception, like for a wedding), it's basically just a big, weirdly lit room. Therefore, scenes will be a bit more fluid in this chapter. Like, everyone is in the same room with the freedom to engage with anyone else for like 90% of the chapter. Meaning, basically anyone can easily appear in any conversation. Don't expect all sixteen of the kids on the chapter cover just standing in a biiiiig circle talking to each other at once, but we will see many of them hopping from one conversation to the next. I like to think this was the best way to keep everyone pertinent.

Finally, we also get to see a very, VERY confused Mrs. Strongwell who is probably about ready to give up trying to figure out her son at this point.

As a funny side note, I spent more time than I care to admit trying to figure out if I'd ever shown the Strongwell parents' car before. You know, because I wanted to make sure I kept the color consistent. Fun fact, I have and it's red (it's in Chapter 4). Too bad I had to grayscale it anyway for the flashback. XD

And his incredibly awkward mother drove us. Um... wink?

Rudy Strongwell:

Er... yeah. Sorry about her.

Rudy Strongwell:

She probably wasn't expecting me to go to prom with someone quite so pregnant.

Rudy Strongwell:

...Or female.

Emily Rose Bryer:

Yeah. I bet. Good job prepping her on that.

Emily Rose Bryer:

Anyway, Fara's gonna be a chaperone here tonight, so Rain and Chanel are coming up with her. Should be soon. Maria, I suspect, will be a little bit later.
