Rain:1063: Uneventful

Synopsis

Gerald Broom assures Fara that absolutely nothing eventful will happen at prom this year. Meanwhile, Rudy is wearing a monocle and congratulates Rain on getting Chanel into prom.

I don't have much to say about the page itself, and I know it's probably an obvious, overdone gag, but I really like it. I hope you do too. ^_^

There is one thing I should add, though. On the last page, there were a number of comments like "does this mean there's going to be a tie for king or queen, and subsequently, a fight over it?" That's certainly one of many possible outcomes. But here's the thing: you tell me how likely it is. XD

I want to offer a little reminder, as some of you may have forgotten. Or some of you may not have been following the comic yet when I did this. But about a year or so ago I had you, the readers, vote for prom king and queen. I promised I would write the crowning scene to make whoever you voted for happen canonically and as believably as possible. Did you vote for obvious choices or unlikely ones? Did you vote for what you thought could make for a happy turnout or were you hoping to stir a little chaos? In 1,644 total votes, what are the odds of actual tie?

Anyway, we won't find out who will be crowned what until much later in the chapter. (And yes, I will reveal the results when all is said and done.)

You seem worried.

Fara Bryer:

I'm pretty sure Rain was nominated. I know she’s not the type to start a fight, but I don’t want some entitled punk starting with her over a plastic tiara either.

Gerald Broom:

Don't worry about it. It was one time. And we don't allow ties anymore since then. I think we have a good senior class this year too. It should be relatively tame.

Gerald Broom:

I'm sure nothing eventful whatsoever will happen, like all the years since then.

Fara Bryer:

Thanks, Gerald. You’re probably right.
