Randy is known for not speaking onscreen very often. He works at the mall, which is where a lot of his appearances take place.

- As stated in the blurb of 1069:The Soda Bar, Molly Finch, a girl who is mentioned to be Randy's date during prom, was supposed to be a character who would be mentioned a lot but never shown in the comic. After Randy was made into a recurring character by fan demand, she was largely scrapped from the story, with the exception of a few mentions in the late story.
